Multisport

Multisport
A challenging and versatile year
Here you can go on an adventure! Have you tried sea kayaking, wave surfing and via ferrata? Or how about fencing, trail biking and disc golf? The line offers a varied program of sports, ball games, outdoor activities, fitness, play and fun. This is the line for those who enjoy being in motion both indoors and outdoors, and who like to challenge themselves. We seek mastery experiences both individually, in groups and as a class. Join us for a year you won't have time to get bored - a year filled with challenges together with other adventurous people.
New challenges
At Multisport you'll have a unique opportunity to try many different sports throughout the year, all of which challenge you in different ways. Over the course of a year here, you'll get to explore many of the opportunities that exist in the region. We will have some overnight stays outdoors in hammocks, shelters and tents.
Some days we will spend in the gym with ball sports such as volleyball, floorball and badminton. We have good facilities at the school, but for some activities we also travel to Molde and Kristiansund. The activities we do on these excursions include gymnastics, ice skating, hockey and curling.
Out on an adventure
We spend most of the year in the region around the school. Some of the highlights here are Romsdalseggen and via ferrata at Åndalsnes, surfing in Hoddevika and canoeing with the whole class. We have a few full weeks of major only during the year. Then we can spend time on more time-consuming adventures than we have time for in a normal week.
The line is suitable for those who are adventurous and want to try many different sports and outdoor activities. The skills you need will be developed during your year here with us.

At Nordvestlandet Folk High School you can choose a study trip! In November, the entire school has a travel period where you choose the program you find most interesting. This is a unique opportunity to get to know more of the students at the school and learn more about yourself and the world we live in.
Bali - Lombok
We're packing our bags and traveling to Bali and Lombok! There we will experience jungle, volcano, rafting and surfing. Get to know Indonesian culture better and visit humanitarian work. Every evening we have dinner together and an evening gathering.
Training camp Gran Canaria
During the training camp you will get to try padel, beach volleyball, wave surf, tennis, frisbee ultimate, cycling and swimming. In addition to some ball activities, there will be some sessions with basic training, strength and fitness, in idyllic surroundings. Every evening we have a joint evening gathering with socializing and fun.
Norway - a round trip
On this trip we will visit a number of important historical sites and you will get an insight into Norwegian culture and nature. We visit Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim and Stiklestad National Cultural Center, where you get a good insight into Viking and medieval culture. The tour continues south to Ålesund. We will also go on a cabin trip and do exciting activities along the way.
Fjord route
Join us on a fantastic cabin-to-cabin hike in the mountains on the islands between Kristiansund and Surnadal. Right next to the ocean, you will experience magnificent nature, improve your map and compass skills, clothing and hiking food. On this hike, you will learn a lot about and from being in nature.
Kenya
In November we are traveling to Kenya. Here we will see fantastic nature, visit many significant places and learn a lot about ourselves! Before we travel, we are working on North/South issues.

Major full weeks
Three times during the year, we arrange to have more consecutive days with major subjects than in a normal week. We use these weeks to go on adventures together.
September
We're heading to the western tip of Norway - specifically Stad and Hoddevika - to learn how to surf. Stad is known to be one of the best places for surfing in Norway. Here we get thorough training from experienced instructors, so you learn how to catch the waves.
February
During the major full week in February, we go on a little tour. We'll be playing floorball with a winner and goalkeeper. During the trip, we will also visit Trondheim where we will have a class championship in GO-cart indoors and visit a trampoline park where you can really test your coordination skills. In Trondheim you will also have the opportunity to spend some time in the city center to look around.
April
This major full week we will spend several nights outdoors and we will go caving, sleep in hammocks, play paintball and climb outdoors and paddle. If there are waves, there will also be some wave surfing! The school year is now coming to an end and we'll be spending a lot of time together as a class cooking and having bonfires outside the activity sessions.
Ski week in Oppdal
In February, the whole school goes to Oppdal Ski Center. We'll be staying at the IMI-Stølen campsite, which has excellent facilities for accommodation and socializing. There will be lots of skiing fun, games and cabin fun!We have skilled instructors with us and you will receive instruction at your level. We offer instruction in alpine skiing, telemark, snowboarding and cross-country skiing. You get 5 days of ski passes, so this is a unique opportunity to improve your skiing skills or learn something completely new.
