Habilitation

When you move out on your own, there are many things it's good to know. At school, you get to practice these things, and we work continuously on skills throughout the year. This involves establishing good routines in everyday life, and practicing cooking as well as cleaning and washing. We focus on each individual student, and make it easy to practice exactly the things you need to practice.

Through interaction, with a stable and present group of safe adults, in a social community with many peers. A school year at Aktiv hverdag - Botrening på Nordvestlandet folkehøgskole will be about understanding oneself, social skills, training in ADL skills and participation in a community.

The goal of education is the academic development of each individual pupil, and pupils should benefit from their education. This involves developing the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to master their lives and participate in work and society. We see this as a prerequisite for young adults to be able to create a positive self-image, which in turn opens up opportunities and choices for mastering life.

Being held to the same standards as your peers on the line gives you a sense of being included in a community. Experiencing and seeing that you're participating, contributing and working for something on an equal footing with your peers opens up many opportunities. We see that this is positive for the group dynamic, the learning environment and the student's willingness and ability to learn.
