Sports Ball sports

Joy, community and mastery

Did you never get enough activity and sports at school? Get ready for a year of sporting fun, excitement and challenges. Sometimes dogged effort and pouring sweat. Other times, close duels and thrilling excitement. Sometimes victory, sometimes defeat, but always a little cheer, laughter, well-being and happy smiles.

The sporting focus is on ball sports and versatility, but the aim is for you to develop as a person and athlete, and experience the joy of activity, community and mastery. Throughout the year, you will also gain some experience as an instructor, organizer, official and referee.

Sports fun with Padel!

Versatility

The form of activity will vary between play, training, games, competitions/matches and tournaments. You'll get to try a wide range of different sports throughout the year, and you'll get to try your hand at outdoor activities. There is a lot of fantastic nature in the areas around the school. You'll have the opportunity to do everything from hiking Romsdalseggen to practicing technical details in a gym. In the immediate vicinity of the school we have a sports hall, beach volleyball courts, an 18-hole disc golf course and a football pitch with natural grass. At the school itself, we have good training rooms for strength and fitness in addition to a good gym where you can unfold with different ball sports.

We spend some time on basic training in - fitness and strength. When we do a lot of physical activity, it's important that we have a good base to build on. General and varied physical training will help to reduce the likelihood of injuries over a long year of activity.

Building the team

To build the "team" in the class, we go on trips to have shared experiences and bond with each other. Although we have good facilities in and around the school, we sometimes go on overnight trips to get a change of scenery, or to get opportunities we don't have at school. Throughout the year, you'll help create an environment where it's easy to try new things and where we cheer each other on no matter what level you're at in the different sports we try.

Major full weeks

Three times during the year, we arrange for a few more consecutive days with major subjects than normal. We often take an overnight trip and pack the days with exciting sports, training and social moments with the class!

September
The first major full week of the program, we travel to Ålesund. On the trip there, we will visit one or more spectacular disc golf courses where there have been tournaments on the European pro tour. We will have a solid tennis session with a competent instructor and we will test out bouldering. In the afternoons, we'll have a session of basic training before enjoying something of a more social nature in the evenings.

November
If you are a student at Idrett Ballsport, we recommend that you join the study trip "Training Camp Gran Canaria". There we will play beach volleyball, padel, tennis, frisbee ultimate, try surfing and go on a bike ride. In addition, we have some shorter basic training sessions during the training camp.

February
In the second week of the program, we go on a small tour. We will play soccer in an artificial turf hall and play floorball with walls and goalkeeper. During the trip, we'll also visit Trondheim, where we'll have an indoor GO-cart class championship and visit a trampoline park where you can really test your coordination skills. In Trondheim, you'll also have the opportunity to spend some time in the city center to have a look around.

April
The third week of the school year is coming to an end. We will spend time playing beach volleyball and soccer. You will also get to try paintball and golf. We will also be away from school for a night or two this week to spend as much time with the class as possible before the school year ends.
